Saw Blade Art. Have you ever watched someone cut wood with a saw, especially an electric skill or radial arm saw? When I hear a powerful saw, I am usually too busy listening to the loud sound that it makes (especially when the saw binds on a piece of damp wood), to pay attention to what other uses the blades could possibly have. Fortunately for us, not everyone is thrown off by the loud sound. It makes you wonder just what it is that triggers the mind into thinking, hey I could paint that. Yet it happens everyday. Folk artists know only too well, that almost everything around us can be recycled into unique works of art. Take Lloyd W. Thibodeau (from New Milford CT.) for example. He takes old hand saws, saw blades and even canoe paddles, and changes them into works of art. He also offers online lessons on how to decorate old saw blades. If you would like to decorate saw blades but do not have any around, you can check with area woodworkers, they often discard the used blades. Or let Lloyd know what you like and he will design one for you, he does take commissions. Here for you now is a small sampling of Lloyd's Saw Blade Art.
