Caroline Curran is a folk artist who paints on discarded glass. Not so many years ago Caroline was an equestrian show jumper. Today her creations jump out at you. You see Caroline paints on glass. Discarded glass bottles of all sorts are treasured and saved. Even burnt out light bulbs are not thrown away. All these treasures become canvases for the next painting that Caroline creates. Old light bulbs become keepsakes. Old bottles are reborn as vases, which will hold a delicate rose. A nicked wine glass is re-used as a delightful sculpture. These are simple everyday items recycled in a very creative way. From her home in Ireland Caroline paints while her husband Oliver Curran, a well know folk artist who's art depicts the history of the common man in Ireland, spends time in his studio. For Caroline her home is her studio. When asked how long have you been doing this, her reply is simply "all of my life". You can reach Caroline through her husband's web site. Here for you now is a small sampling of her work.
